The body and physical appearance are the main themes in my projects - I believe that to be
one of the true languages capable to appeal to any human being, especially with its figurative form.
I use the shape to reveal internal questions crucial for a lot of people. Themes for my projects come to me in changes and contradictions born deep inside the human. Physicality and sensuality; self-perception; reflection on the perversion and narrow-mindedness of society; taboo and stigmatization. I'm involved in the creation of total installations using various media, but mostly sculpture.
As a research-based artist I use social, ecological, science, mythic and any other sources that I can reach.
Maybe Our Mother Didn't Want Us
Interactive VR exhibition. Project website
"The Rock Mother", virtual installation view
In the digital century time and space are shrinking, and changes once smooth, now speeding up. As long as we can remember, humanity constantly battled Nature and now she is finally beaten.
The figure of a Parent is essential to human beings. But what does the chain between generations really mean? The disappointment in ourselves, the blooming of mental health diseases, the increasing population of the ignorant? Every child echoes its mother's mood, can this be true in planetary scale?
Putting away religions (because they’re primarily constant) we can see how the designation of Mother and Child are changing now faster than ever. Something established long ago became optional and sometimes unwanted. What is a child from a philosophical, scientific, social point of view?
There is a constant chase for immortality. Perhaps, a consciousness is just a side effect of evolution that serves improvement of DNA. Intelligence is a self-knowledge tool for the Universe, and humanity is an artificial neural network (ANN) for calculating and modeling. Whilst children are a promise of immortality, they are getting angry as fast as they see the condition of the world nowadays.
Exploring the archetype that bonds mother and children I want to utter bitter disillusionment in anthropocentrism and changes that we already heritaged. Yet, we are still children on our mother’s body.
